Copy of City Heels - Country Heals

Capturing true natural beauty and embracing Country feels for the last month of 'Winter 2020' . In just under three hours we experienced the magic of Bridgetown. I have created a little business directory at the end of this blog to jumpstart your adventures here too!

Starting off with a little Xmas gatho to finish up July with - how gorgeous is this floral piece delicately put together by Laurel of Bloomin' Bridgetown

Our gorgeous host Zsuzsanna the heart & soul of Oakhill House prepared yummy fresh home baked goods for our 'Vay Cay' away from City Life.

There were many places and ideas to consider, one on the 'next time' list is Horse riding.

All the locals were quick (yes, quick) to recommend a place to do this, we now pass this recommendation onto you - S & L Horse Services with Leesa

At Oakhill house you will be comfy in the surroundings, delicately nurtured by Gordon & Zsuzsanna. The grounds were beautiful, blooming flowers, farm animals & the amazing water fountain and rushing creeks. The sounds of birds, water and animals were so relaxing & healing from the comfort & seating of the expansive verandah space

The interior of the home was exceptionally divine with Elegantly appointed decor, but wait until you lay eyes on the Master bedroom - have fun fighting over it with your friends as to who sleeps in there! The beds throughout were super comfy and fitted with quality linens with pleasing restful colour pallette.

We visited the pigs around the corner from Sunnyhurst Winery.

Then of course we enjoyed a delicious wine tasting with Marie-Pierre the family owner of Sunnyhurst Winery who always makes her Cellar door an inviting, authentic experience with amazing knowledge of her region. All of us girls made 'take home' purchases & certainly enjoyed a tour of her garden and estate (over 120 years old) which has featured in the Festival of Country Gardens - Love the Grand old Magnolia tree and that swing!

Off to Balingup (20 minutes drive) to visit a few of my fav's - Balingup Fruit Winery counters (formerly known as Birdwood Park Fruit Winery) Again complimentary tastings served up by a lovely sparkly server - we took home some amazing ports and bottles, looks like I will be visiting here more often as the ladies have put their orders in for the next time I visit one of my favourite 'go to' spaces.. Bridgetown.

Over to Tinderbox for a spend up on bath salts to take back to Oakhill to soak in the tub with glass of wine in hand.

Before heading back to 'Fridgetown' as Bridgetown is affectionately known as by the locals in town we enjoyed some scrumptious lunch at the award winning 'The Mushroom at No. 61' Cafe.

Back at Oakhill House I arranged a little photo shoot session with Haylee Guiver to capture the essence of friendship & what better backdrop than on the Estate of Oakhill House with a champer or two in hand, even though some preferred a glass of local red any day.

Topped off the night with an order of the newly opened Bridgetown Vietnamese Cafe - so yum and fresh! A game of Cards Against Humanity was a bunch of belly laughs... by then with a cup of tea and chocolate to boot

What an amazing time we had, thanks to my beautiful friends x
